Discussion in Chicago Marks the 250th Anniversary of American Democracy.
The Consulate General of Greece in Chicago invites the public to a special discussion marking the 250th anniversary of American democracy, titled: “The Greek Legacy & the American Experiment at 250.”
The event will feature Antonis Alexandridis, Ambassador of Greece to the United States, in conversation with Nicholas Doumanis, Professor and Illinois Chair in Hellenic Studies at the University of Illinois Chicago.
The discussion will take place on March 6, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at the UIC Isadore and Sadie Dorin Forum in Chicago.
As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary, the conversation will explore the lasting influence of Greek political thought on the foundations of American democracy and its continuing relevance today.
