The official inauguration of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce USA brought together leaders from the Greek American community, U.S. administration officials, former and current Ambassadors, stakeholders and business representatives from Greece and the United States, including the leadership of its founding institution, the American Hellenic Chamber of Commerce.

The American Hellenic Chamber of Commerce USA aims to promote bilateral trade and investment from and in the United States at a time of historic highs in U.S. – Greece relations, making the case for a growing strategic economic partnership between the two countries. As a non-profit organization established in the United States, it offers to its members a hub for networking, advocacy, information, business facilitation and a series of events that foster partnerships between Greek and U.S. businesses, entrepreneurs and nonprofits looking to explore opportunities in the U.S. and Greece.

Aiming to serve Greek companies and organizations in their effort to expand in the U.S. market, it also offers U.S.-based organizations a gateway to Greece, by connecting them to one of Greece’s most influential and trusted business organizations and a longstanding member of the global network of the American Chambers of Commerce.

Cutting the ribbon, the Ambassador of Greece to the United States Ms. Ekaterini Nassika noted that “AmCham Greece is making today a giant leap into the future by opening a local branch in the American capital.”

As the President of AmCham Greece and AmCham Greece in the USA Nicholas Bakatselos put it, “with pride and purpose, we inaugurate our new office in Washington, D.C. – a bold step to elevate U.S.-Greece ties, boost economic diplomacy, and support our members on both sides of the Atlantic.” The new organization will serve as a permanent base of the AmCham GR in the US, connecting in a dynamic and efficient way the most extrovert part of the Greek business world with American partners in the U.S. and visa versa.

To that end, the Executive Director of the U.S. office Katerina Sokou called the American organizations and businesses, and particularly the Greek-American ones, to partner with the Chamber on their shared mission to build a stronger economic partnership between the United States and Greece, among others by highlighting our common interests and priorities. She noted Greece’s reliability as a trusted ally and partner that aligns with U.S. national security interests as an investment destination, and the increasing role of Greek multinationals and startups in strategic sectors of the U.S. economy.

At the office inauguration, AmCham Greece in the USA also launched its U.S. membership campaign and its new website, www.amchamgr-us.org , where interested professionals, businesses of all sizes and non-profits across America may find more information and apply for membership.
