The Daughters of Penelope (DOP) and Amaryllis Athens Chapter 421, in collaboration with the Academy of Athens, co-hosted the Greece and Cyprus Chapter Leadership Conference at the Academy of Athens on April 12, 2025.
Journalist Nikos Eleftheroglou served as the moderator for the conference agenda. Athanasios Stephanis, the Academy of Athens Director of Sciences, offered greetings and Angeliki Roubou, Researcher, KEEΛΓ of the Academy, followed with a presentation on the “The Role of Penelope from Homer’s Odyssey to the Present Day.”

Organizational Awards.
Grand President Margaret Dritsas had the honor and pleasure of presenting several awards at the 2025 Daughters of Penelope Greece and Cyprus Leadership Conference.
The 2025 Daughters of Penelope Human Rights Award was given to Sister Margaret A. Pitiris, United Nations Women Chair, Subcommittee on Labor & Pay Equality, in appreciation of her work with the United Nations in conflict areas to protect the human rights of women and girls.
The 2025 Daughters of Penelope Service Award was given to Region Governor of Greece and Cyprus Maria Sofianou in recognition of her ten years of distinguished service as Region Governor of Greece and Cyprus and for her unselfish contribution to the AHEPA Family.
The 2025 Daughters of Penelope Appreciation Award was given to Amaryllis Chapter No. 421 of Athens, in appreciation as the official Host Chapter of the 2025 Greece and Cyprus Leadership Conference and for their distinguished service to the Daughters of Penelope.
The 2025 Daughters of Penelope Appreciation Award was also given to the Academy of Athens in appreciation of their collaboration with the Daughters of Penelope as the official host venue of the 2025 Greece and Cyprus Leadership Conference.
Thank you to the Academy of Athens for the beautiful and significant collaboration as the official venue host of the conference. Thank you to our AHEPA family officers, chapter presidents, and 200-plus Sisters who came from near and far to be with us and participate.
