The Greek American Mothers Association of New York, Inc. proudly hosted its Annual Dinner Dance on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Terrace on the Park.

The elegant affair reflected the organization’s enduring mission to uplift families and support meaningful causes both locally and beyond. Guests were welcomed into a beautifully arranged venue where tradition and celebration blended seamlessly, creating an atmosphere of warmth, pride, and unity within the Greek-American community.

A highlight of the evening was the recognition of two remarkable women: Eleni Sarigiannis and Margaret (“Rita”) Manolis, mother of Elias Manolis. Both honorees were celebrated for their strength, resilience, and unwavering dedication to their families and community. Their stories served as powerful reminders of perseverance and the importance of compassion in times of challenge.

In a deeply moving moment, attendees also paid tribute to Elias Manolis, a young Greek-American who recently underwent a kidney transplant in March in New York. His journey inspired many in attendance, and the acknowledgment underscored the Association’s commitment to supporting individuals and families facing medical hardships. The tribute resonated strongly with guests, reinforcing the event’s broader purpose of community care and solidarity.

The evening was expertly guided by master of ceremonies Dimitris Filippidis, whose presence added energy, warmth, and professionalism to the program. His engaging style helped create a seamless flow throughout the night, ensuring that each moment—from heartfelt speeches to lively entertainment—was both meaningful and memorable.

Guests were treated to a full gala experience featuring live music by Orchestra “Pelagos,” whose vibrant performance encouraged many to take to the dance floor. The celebration also included raffles, socializing, and a carefully curated dinner featuring appetizers, fine wine, desserts, and an array of traditional and contemporary dishes. The combination of entertainment and philanthropy created a dynamic atmosphere that kept attendees engaged throughout the evening.

A central focus of the event was the Association’s continued commitment to charitable giving. This year’s contributions once again demonstrated the organization’s generosity and impact:

Ronald McDonald House received a total contribution of $105,000 over time, including $9,000 donated this year alone.

Real Men Wear Pink was supported with a $6,000 contribution this year, aiding breast cancer awareness and research efforts.

Malan Syndrome Association has received $20,000 overall, including $3,000 contributed this year to support individuals and families affected by the condition.

St. Mary’s of Bayside was newly supported this year with a $5,000 donation, marking the beginning of what the Association hopes will be a lasting partnership.

These contributions highlight the organization’s unwavering dedication to supporting healthcare initiatives, family services, and specialized causes that make a tangible difference in people’s lives.
