On Tuesday, October 17, 2023, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America arrived in Kefalonia, Greece for an Official Visit and to Celebrate the Feast of Saint Gerasimos at the Monastery in Omalon.
His Eminence was warmly welcomed at the airport by His Eminence Metropolitan Demetrios of Kefalonia and clergy from the area. During the 4 day visit Archbishop Elpidophoros is scheduled to meet with the Mayor Theofilos Mihalatos of Argostali and other civic leaders. He will also visit the Monastery of Saint Andrew in the village of Pertata, tour the Ecclesiastical Museum and visit local orphanages.
On Friday, October 20, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros will preside at the Hierarchal Divine Liturgy at Saint Gerasimos Monastery and visit the Archeological Musuem of Sami.
The Archbishop is accompanied by Rev. Protopresbyters of the Ecumenical Throne Panagioti Papazafiropoulos, and Evagoras Constantinides, Archdeacon Dionysios Papiris, Order of St. Andrew Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, members of Leadership 100 and others.
