Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis ia attending an event on Thursday afternoon marking the 15 years of Google’s presence in Greece.
Mitsotakis is also scheduled to meet with Google Vice-President for Engineering & Research, Yossi Matias, with whom he is expected to discuss the challenges and opportunities presented by artificial intelligence globally and in Greece.
Speaking to reporters, Google executives noted that the investment announced 14 months ago about a data center being set up in Greece within three years still stands as previously stated, adding that it will be built in Athens.
This event is being held at the former tobacco factory on Lenorman Avenue, in the Athens district of Kolonos.
