Attica Region governor Nikos Hardalias held a series of strategic meetings with tourism and travel industry players and the media with the aim of promoting and consolidating the region on the international tourist map for the benefit of sustainable development, while in Paris.
The meetings took place on the sidelines of the International & French Travel Market (IFTM) tourism exhibition “Top Resa 2024”, where the region is participating as a co-exhibitor at the Greek National Tourist Organisation (GNTO) stand.
In particular, in his meeting with the International Sales Director of the EURONEWS international television network, Sabine Troccaz, Hardalias discussed the promotion of Attica through various media (television, digital and social media), with the two sides reaching a strategic cooperation agreement until 2028.
In this context, the possibility of organising a large campaign to promote Attica as a visitor destination all 12 months of the year was considered.
The governor also met with the largest tour operator in France, the FRAM company, and its representative, Folco Aloisi. The aim of the meeting was to strengthen the tourist flow to Attica, increase the average expenditure and the length of stay of French visitors in Greece, with an emphasis on gastronomy, cultural events and routes of Attica, as well as highlighting the cosmopolitan islands of the Argosaronic Sea.
Subsequently, in the meeting with the chief commercial officer of the Transavia airline, Nikolas Henion, the possibility of adding two new flights, from the airports of Bordeaux and Marseilles to Athens, was examined, in order to further strengthen both the connection of the French market with Attica as well as facilitating the access of French tourists.
In the meeting with the marketing planning manager of Air France, Frederic Ribe, the addition of one more daily Athens-Paris flight was requested, which will be added at the beginning of November.
